Important Alert: Beware of Medicare Scams Regarding “Food Cards”

Recently, there have been reports of telemarketers making misleading calls regarding “food cards,” falsely implying that Medicare beneficiaries are eligible for additional benefits if they switch their Medicare Supplement or Medicare Advantage plans. Please be aware that very few individuals actually qualify for these benefits. Specifically, only those enrolled in both Medicaid and Medicare (known as dual-eligible beneficiaries) are eligible for certain Medicare Advantage plans that include a small grocery benefit each month.

If you currently have a Medigap Supplement plan, you do not qualify for this type of additional benefit. Similarly, if you are on a Medicare Advantage plan but not enrolled in Medicaid, you are not eligible for a plan with this limited benefit.

It’s important to understand that these companies are attempting to confuse and persuade you to switch plans based on promises of benefits that you do not qualify for. Unfortunately, this can lead to unnecessary plan changes that do not benefit you and could result in the loss of your current agent (me), without actually gaining the promised benefits.

I want to assure you that I am committed to providing you with honest, personalized service. I take the time to understand your unique needs and ensure that you have the best coverage at a price that works for you. Unlike impersonal telemarketers, I am always accessible directly at my office number. Your trust and satisfaction are my top priorities.

If you have any questions about your current coverage or potential benefits you may qualify for, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I am here to provide you with accurate information and guidance.
