Katie Owen is a California girl who married Bill, a Texan, in 1999, and moved to Texas in 2002. While she misses the beach, she loves Texas people, Texas spirit, and powerful thunderstorms. Bill and Katie have two children. She and Bill are certified SCUBA divers and outdoor enthusiasts. Katie is an avid reader of business, leadership, and historical fiction books. Most mornings you can find her walking 5 miles before sunrise.
After attaining a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Katie began her professional career. Serving her clients well and bringing significant value are her passions. Before discovering insurance as her lifetime focus, Katie held a variety of positions from Project Controller to Director of Sales. In 2003, Katie joined Aflac and earned her Life and Health Insurance License. In 2004, she received the “Rookie of the Year” award. In 2005, as a District Sales Coordinator, she earned the coveted “#1 Overall District” distinction (2005 & 2006). In 2007, she moved up to the Regional Sales Coordinator position.
Between 2007-2009, Katie earned many accolades, including multiple FAME awards (Founders Achievement for Management Excellence) and Career Builders Club (for recruiting over 100 new agents in a single year). She went on to become a State Trainer, Certified Case Manager and Certified Enrollment Specialist. Through her tenacity and high levels of service, in 2017, Katie rose to become the #2 Agent in Aflac, also earning an Amos Award (the highest honor for agents). In 2019, she ventured out for a new challenge!

In 2003, Katie was introduced to Aflac and earned her Life and Health Insurance License. In 2004, she was awarded “Rookie of the Year.” In 2005, Katie was promoted to the District Sales Coordinator position and earned the coveted “#1 Overall District” distinction (2005 & 2006). In 2007, she was promoted to the Regional Sales Coordinator position.

Much to her surprise, Katie found that Medicare fit her area of specialization perfectly. Drawing from her 16 years of insurance experience, she knew she could bring tremendous value and clarity to overwhelmed Medicare-eligible people. She pivoted to Medicare and earned her certification in the Spring of 2019. Katie’s existing clients were thrilled to learn she could assist with their Medicare transition. As with her previous career moves, she found success quickly and started growing her Medicare business. Katie’s colleagues noticed her newfound energy and excitement, and some of them even asked to join her team. In 2021, Katie began building her insurance agency.
Katie’s agency creates a supportive environment for agents to learn a new industry, and a culture within which they can be trained, encouraged, and have access to helpful tools and resources. She is growing her team and is ready to onboard qualified agents.
Using her natural gifts of being highly organized, systems-oriented and an inherent communicator, she is extremely effective at assisting her clients and leading her agents.
Her agency’s goal is to help 100,000 people enroll in Medicare by 2032.
